Middleware Integration with Clearing Systems

Problem

According to Macedonian law for inter-banking communication, banks are obligated to exchange data with MIPS (Macedonian Interbank Payment System) and KIBS (Clearing Inter-banking Systems) systems. There are two ways of exchanging data with external systems:

  • Incoming:  receiving data from current bank’s solution, persisting of data in Oracle database, generating files with appropriate structure and sending files to external system,
  • Outgoing:  receiving files from external systems, processing files and saving data in Oracle database. Part of data is sent to current bank’s solution, part is available for preview or sent as announcement via e-mail messages

Solution

InterWorks  designed and developed “Middleware Integration with Clearing Systems”, as an integration between current bank’s system with the existing MIPS (Macedonian Interbank Payment System) and KIBS (Clearing Inter-banking Systems) clearing systems. The solution includes four modules (components):

  • KIBS integration module
  • MIPS integration module
  • Web module
  • KIBS and MIPS adapter simulators

All modules include development and testing using PL/SQL and C# programming languages. Modules integration includes: receiving, persisting, processing and transmitting, generating and sending messages and records to the appropriate systems.

Benefits

  • Fulfillment of legislative requirements specified by Macedonian law for interbanking communication
  • Ability to easy administer and view the relevant information and messages
  • Transparent process of: monitoring, searching, filtering, exporting, correlating and listing of the messages supported by the KIBS and MIPS Integration Modules
  • Managing configuration data
  • Available custom reports generation for further analyses
