SOA for US national wireless service provider

Problem

Client’s rapid growth into new markets left it with aging systems that were unreliable, provided little process visibility, and increased customer churn. InterWorks was selected along with its main US partner for the implementation of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to facilitate the migration from the client’s legacy systems to a new BSS/OSS. The high complexity and the lack of abstraction layers created more failure points in the enterprise and increased the occurrence of customer affecting outages. Most of the IT budget goes into maintenance of the current IT infrastructure and only a small amount is available for new functionalities to drive new business opportunities.

Solution

Implementation of Enterprise Service Platform that enables seamless communication between different layers of the system. It provides business abstraction layers and foundation for the development of services that incorporate the business logic flows and give solid ground for building adapters that connect the code to the third party systems. The solution integrates different systems and services, as well as it provides a robust set of services intended to support the management of company’s wireless customers by internal and external sales channels. The integration layer provides integration between these systems: POS (point-of-sale), MDM (master data management), SCM (supply chain management) etc.
